Rose M. Beard was born April 8, 1948, in Munford, AL, departed from this life on September 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Tisdale Colley; her mother, the late Corine Colley and her husband, the late Jessie Beard.
Rose, affectionally known as “Rosie,” was educated in the Munford, AL school system until her family moved from Alabama to Akron, Ohio. Rose graduated from North High School and attended business school later in life to further her education. Rose met and married Jessie Beard in 1966. From this union, they were blessed with two children: Sherry and Michael.
Rose worked many years for The Rogers Manufacturing Company. She also worked for Wyant Woods Care Center until she retired.
Rose loved to go to bingo with her mother and sisters. She also loved cooking “soul” food and spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching game shows, crime investigation shows and the food network. Rose was a straightforward woman who did not mince words. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Rose leaves to cherish her loving memory, daughter, Sherry (Kirk) Beard of Akron, OH; son, Michael Beard of Akron, OH; special daughters, Norma Graves and Carla Perry both of Akron, OH; goddaughter, Yolanda Carter of Akron, OH; godson, Eric (Eureka) Mitchell of Columbus, OH; 2 grandchildren, Shakeya Beard and Dionna Beard of Akron, OH; 4 great-grandchildren, LaiYonah Woods, Taylor Beard, London Moss and Little Derrick Murray all of Akron OH; 1 brother, Jerry (Elsie) Colley of Akron, OH; 4 sisters, Mizzdell Glover of Raleigh, NC, Gail (James) Carter of Akron, OH, Jeanette Turneur of Akron, OH and Dorothy Chavis of Raleigh, NC and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
