Rosie Mary Brown passed away September 26, 2024 at 9:26a.m. peacefully in her sleep, after a battle of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She was 92 years young.
Rosie affectionately known as Rose to family and friends was born September 6, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia to Robert and Pearl Allen. She married the love of her life, Benjamin Brownwho preceded her in death in 1986.
Rosie accepted Christ as a child and was educated through Georgia Public Schools before relocating to Akron, Ohio. She worked various jobs throughout her young life, but once she married Ben, she enjoyed being a mom and homemaker.
Rose was a dedicated wife, and mother foremost. She treasured her children, and embraced every moment with them. She instilled in her sons and daughter strong values that have served them well. She especially loved her role as Gigi, as affectionately called by her grand kings, queens, prince, and princesses. She loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, and their children, as well as family and friends.
If you knew Rose, you knew her love for the Blues. She would get up to sing and dance with no hesitation to her favorite Blues song. Rose also loved to cook, and would cook for whomever asked her to. Her dog Sissy also received home cooked meals, which is why everyone questioned why Sissy was so big.
Rose loved to shop. No matter the weather, rain or shine, she and her daughter Flora Jean, would hit Macy’s, Dillards, JC Penny’s, and Montgomery Wards (too many to name ALL their stores) EVERY Saturday. They would be in the stores ALL day, which showed their flair for fashion. Those two were the epitome of classy women. Where you saw one, you saw the other. She also loved to travel, gardening, and kept an immaculate home.
Rose was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin (Ben) Brown, and the much loved mother of Perry Allen Sr., special daughters Sherry Cameron, and Alma Jean Brown, and special son Jewell Cameron.
Dear sister of brother Sonny Alford, and aunt to nephew Butch Altman.

A big hug, and a lot of kisses to Sandra Wyatt. Sandra is the kind of care provider everyone wishes for. She is a warm and caring person who took her time with Rose. She is a superb caretaker, and an all around good person. Rosie couldn’t have been in better hands.
Rose’s life was a living example of GOD allowing her to be on this earth for 92 years. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
