Roy Lee Brown was born in Monroe, Louisiana on October 13, 1964, to Mary Bailey. He was the eldest of 5 children.
Although he was baptized at a young age, he redirected himself to God again as an adult. During this spiritual growth, Roy found three churches that helped him along his path: Faith United Baptist (Monroe), Spiritual Harvest Worship Center (Monroe), and Church on the Heights (Cleveland Heights). Roy was called home to rest easy with the Lord July 3, 2022.
His high school education was from the class of 1982 Carroll High School. Soon after graduation he enlisted into the United States Army. Roy completed his service duties with an honorable discharge.
Roy joined into holy matrimony his wife, Sandra, on July 28, 2001. Together they moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 2020 with their grandson whom he raised as a son, Zacchaeus Nash. This was to be closer to his mother and siblings. We all knew him as a person who loved to laugh and had a few “favorable words” and nicknames for everyone.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Hosea and Willie Jane Atkins.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, mother, Mary Bailey; wife, Sandra; 3 daughters, Katrina (Wayne) Pollard -TX, Candra Nash – LA, Kameisha Nash – MI; 7 grandchildren, Zacchaecus, Dayshia, Sincere, Wayne Jr., Tyler, Kameko, and Madisen; 10 siblings, LaSheila (Jeffrey) Jordan -LA, Milton (Lora) Young – OH, Baron Brown – OH, Tyrone (Kathryn) Young – OH, Carla Brown – OH, Reginald Brown – MI, James (Lesa) Young – OH, Vanessa (Antonio) Marshall – OH, Karen Jenkins – OH and Chad Morehead – MN; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He left us with many memories to never forget! Take time to laugh with a love one!
