Ruth Ann Jones (Harris), lovingly known as “Lady” (a nickname given to her by her aunt), was born on August 24th, 1959, to John Thomas and Willie Harris in Cleveland, Ohio. Lady was the third of seven children.
Lady accepted Christ at an early age and later rededicated her life to Christ along with her son, Raymond, under the pastoral guidance of Reverend Small at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church. She received her education in the East Cleveland School system, graduating from Shaw High School in 1979.
Lady was a loving, caring, God-fearing woman who was cherished by all who knew her. She was blessed to find love with her forever partner, Ronald, whom she affectionately called Buddy. Lady and Ronnie shared 36 wonderful years together. From their union, they were blessed with their daughter Danielle, and together they raised Raymond, Robert, and Ronald Jr.
For over 30 years, Lady was a devoted homemaker, pouring her love into her family and friends. She was known for her green thumb, able to breathe life into anything she touched. Lady loved to entertain and was renowned for her cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her cousins and her best friend, Karen Douglas. Lady truly showed us what an angel on earth looks like.
Despite enduring a life-changing injury early in life, Lady persevered. She took care of her ailing parents with unwavering strength, accepted a terminal illness, and never allowed her faith to waver or her upbeat spirit to die. She was the true definition of a perfect Lady.
Lady transcended this life on August 16, 2024, at Hospice Western Reserve, with her devoted husband and son by her side. Preceding Lady in death were her mother and father, Willie and JT Harris, her sister Kim Harris, and her brothers John Thomas Harris Jr. and Jerome Harris.
Lady leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted and loving husband, Ronnie; her daughter Danielle; her sons Raymond, Robert (Faye), and Ronald Jr. (Crystal); her grandchildren Rae’onna, Ashley, Desirae, RJ, Cassidy, Tseday, Jadem, Serenity, Savannah, Autumn, and a new bundle of joy arriving in mid-October Araya; sister Debbie Speights, two brothers Rendell Harris and Warren Harris, along with a host of sister in laws and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
