Talk About A Child That Do Love Jesus, Samantha Rache´l McClarin is the youngest of three (3) daughters to Sammie, Lee McClarin (Deceased) and Pamela, Ann (Johnson) McClarin. Born January 9, 1979, Samantha is a Baptized Believing Christian, trained under the teaching of the Apostolic Faith. Her early Christian trainings were at the Cleveland Church of Christ, (Now) Cleveland Church of Christ – Citadel of Hope Ministries, under the leadership of both Bishop James R. Haughton Senior and Bishop Lincoln C. Haughton, III.
Educated by the Cleveland Public School system, (Now) Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), Samantha first attend Brightside Christian Academy but graduated 6th grade from Walton Elementary School on the Westside of Cleveland. She experienced junior high at Empire Junior High school (Elder Lincoln C. Haughton, III, Principal). However, it was at John Hay, High School that she began to come into her own by meeting like-minded young people with the same interest who became some of her life-long friends. Needing a change of scenery, she made the brave decision to join Job Corps in Cincinnati, Ohio where she served voluntarily in Student Government & Office Administration.
Higher Education for Samantha began at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College but once she decided to return home her Associate’s degree was completed at Cuyahoga Community College, Metro Campus. Samantha has a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management from Chancellor University and a Master of Business Administration, from the Alliant School of Management, Alliant International University. Other continuing education and certifications are: The Professional Certificate In Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, Cleveland State University; and the Certificate of Completion, for the Training for Service (2016) Bible Survey Course (Pastor Yvonne Drake, Course Facilitator). Before she decided to accept the offer to work at Cleveland State University, Sam was working on a Doctorate in International Business.
Christian Conversion for Samantha happened one Sunday night during worship service to the song “Praise Is What I Do” it was then that she dedicated and surrendered her whole heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. After returning home to Cleveland she entrusted the growth of her salvation to the End Times Ministry of Deliverance Church, in Mentor, Ohio, under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor Yvette, Coleman. Samantha also felt the need to be baptized again as an adult and the baptism took place September 11, 2016.
The Ordination by which Samantha became an Ordained Minister took place on Sunday November 7, 2021, at her home church, officiated by Pastor Coleman and the End Times Ministry Leadership.
Attributes of Excellence make up Samantha’s personality. She was whimsical, a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll; and could make friends at the drop of a dime. She was a hugger and believed in the concept of giving and receiving. Samantha loved bubbles because she said that bubbles make people happy. She was good at hosting parties and had training in special events planning. Additionally, she advocated for education and senior citizens’ rights & services.
Leisure & Activities: An avid reader, with the Book of Revelation being her favorite book of the Bible, arts & crafts, board games, movies; and traveling, along with spending quality time with family and friends.
Samantha better known as “Little Sam” departed this life on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 6:42 am after a short hospitalization stay at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Preceding her in death is her Father, both sets of Grandparents, and both sets of Godparents, 2 Uncles, and 4 Aunties. She leaves to mourn her passing Mother, Pamela A. McClarin; Sisters April, Johnson and Christine, Johnson; Nephews Daumeon, Dixon; and Keyonnis, Smith; and Niece Chardenae´, Hillman. Other family and friends from both sides of her family include Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Co-workers and their families, Church members, and their families; and all others that knew and loved Samantha as well.
