Samuel Thomas Jackson, Jr. was born on September 3, 1949 to Sammie & Annie Jackson, who preceded him in death. He was born in Lyons, Georgia and later moved to Cleveland, Ohio. He went home to live with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2025.
Samuel was united in Holy Matrimony to Babara Ann Walker in 1979 and for 46 years they’ve loved and cherished each other. To this union, God blessed them with three children.
Samuel, lovingly known as Junior or Sam, was well loved as a Deacon of New Prospect Baptist Church, where he faithfully served. Junior sustained by his faith was a loving and caring, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle and was instrumental in being the family role model.
Sam worked at Cravro Chemical, Cleveland Pigment and Color, and retired from Federal Equipment Company. He was a hardworking, loyal and dedicated employee who saw to it that any brother who wanted a job found one with him.
Sam enjoyed his profession, and coaching basketball for boys and girls at local venues was a pleasant pastime. He also relished in attending his children’s many athletic games and events. Sam also became a member of the 33 Degree Masons.
Sam had a reputation for staying on top of current affairs in Society with an in-depth knowledge of what’s going on in the world. He was outspoken and had strong convictions about certain situations.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, Wife; Barbara A. Jackson, affectionately known as “Boo Boo”, three children; Clarissa C. Jackson, Samuel T. Jackson III, and Erick R. Jackson. two sisters; Pearl Ann Hurth (Sam) and Joyce Ann Jackson. three Brothers; Joe Jackson (deceased), Manning Jackson, and Ricky Allen Jackson. three grandchildren; Mya Jackson, Isaiah Gooch, and Shante Jackson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
