Sandra Kouns was born on August 21, 1950, to Horace and Patricia Collier, who preceded her in death. She was the beloved sister of Barbara Collier, Horace Collier (Abdullah Rahshid), Joyce Brown (George Brown, deceased), and the late Roger Collier.
Sandra graduated from East Tech High School in 1968 and went on to marry, blessing the world with two cherished children, Patricia Kouns (PJ) and Allen Kouns.
On September 22, 1969, Sandra dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service. She poured her love, wisdom, and devotion not only into her family but also into her spiritual brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall, where she was known for her strength, generosity, and warmth.
Sandra had a joyful and vibrant spirit — she loved to dance, enjoy her favorite music (especially Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, and Sade), and spend cherished time with her family. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures like popcorn, Twizzlers, and a cold Diet Coke. Above all, Sandra was deeply devoted to studying the Bible, sharing the good news, and spreading love and encouragement. She had a gift for making people smile, offering wise biblical advice, and guiding others with honesty and care. Whether singing Kingdom melodies or speaking truth with love, Sandra always sought to lift others up and point them toward happiness and faith.
A fighter to the very end, Sandra faced her final days with the same strength and love that defined her life. She passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, Patricia and Allen, and her five grandchildren — Demetrius, Jamell, Dorian, DeAndre (affectionately nicknamed “Johnny”), and Dalontay — who filled her life with pride and joy.
Her family and all who knew her will carry forward the example she set: a life rooted in love, resilience, and faith. Sandra’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
