Sharon Davis was born on August 8, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, the firstborn child of Gilda and Robert Woodson Sr. Her arrival was an especially meaningful blessing to her beloved father, as the two shared the same birthday, a bond that made the day even more special. Sharon grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large and loving extended family. Alongside her siblings, Patricia Woodson and Robert “Bobby” Woodson, she was raised in a home filled with laughter, love, and the constant presence of aunts, uncles, and cherished cousins, including Gregory and Ella, who were like siblings throughout their childhood.
From an early age, Sharon had a curious mind and a deep love for learning. She attended Collinwood High School in Cleveland, graduating in 1969. The friendships and experiences she gained there became cherished memories she carried with her throughout her life.
Sharon later married her lifelong friend and partner, Charles Davis. Their relationship grew from friendship into a shared life and family. Together they welcomed two children, Heather in 1978 and Jonathan in 1983.
One of Sharon’s greatest gifts was the care she showed others through food. She learned her love of cooking and baking from her mother, carrying forward family traditions in her own kitchen. She spent most of her working life in food service, eventually retiring from the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School System, where she served countless students and staff with the same quiet dedication and care she gave her own family.
While she loved being a mother, one of the roles that brought Sharon the greatest joy was becoming “Nana.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished every moment with Jaliyah, LeBron (Trey), Christian, Jaivian, Mikayla, Nevaeh, and Jordan, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
On February 16, 2026, Sharon peacefully entered eternal rest. She was reunited with parents, brother Bobby, and beloved son Jonathan who all preceded her in death. Sharon leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, family, and quiet strength. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the lives of her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know her.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are forever grateful for the love she gave us, the lessons she taught us, and the memories that will remain with us always.
