Sharon Regine Brown was called peacefully to eternal rest on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born on January 16, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of John Richard Sr. and Doris Jean Burris, both of whom preceded her in death. Sharon was the fifth of seven children, and it was within this close-knit family that her faith was nurtured, and her deep love for family took root.
Sharon was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1973, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with purpose, resilience, and love. She began her career with the East Cleveland Public School District, and in 1974, she married her high school sweetheart, Ottis (Cody) Johnson. Together, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Nakeia Lynnise Johnson, a bond that brought Sharon endless joy.
With a keen intellect and an unstoppable spirit, Sharon later pursued career opportunities at Ohio Bell and Progressive Insurance, while also furthering her education at Cuyahoga Community College.
In 1990, fate led Sharon to a love that would redefine her life. While enjoying an evening at the Ambassador Bowling Alley, she met Ramon Brown, the man who would become her best friend, soulmate, and devoted husband. They exchanged vows on May 9, 1992, and together, they built a beautiful life, enriched by the birth of their beloved daughter, Taylor Von Brown. Their love story spanned thirty-one wonderful years until Ramon’s passing in 2023, but the love they shared remains eternal.
A Life Rooted in Faith and Love
A devoted woman of faith, Sharon accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult. She was a dedicated member of the Evangelistic Temple of Faith under Pastor Willie J. & Virgie Reese before joining the Christian Fellowship Center under Bishop Bill and Shirley McKinney. At the time of her passing, she was a cherished member of Christian Fellowship Center under Apostle Rachelle McKinney Jones.
Sharon’s presence was magnetic—her warmth, kindness, and dazzling smile made everyone feel like they had known her forever. She had a natural ability to uplift others, offering love, wisdom, and laughter with effortless grace. She never met a stranger—only a friend she had not yet made.
A Woman of Style, Elegance, and Generosity
Sharon’s impeccable sense of fashion and home décor was unmatched. Whether she was elegantly dressed for an event or thoughtfully curating the perfect space in her home, she had an eye for beauty that left a lasting impression. She found joy in transforming any setting into something spectacular.
Her heart for giving knew no bounds. She opened her home to family, friends, and anyone in need, ensuring that no one ever felt alone. Her love language was hospitality, and she expressed it through her famous gatherings, where warmth, laughter, and love overflowed. Among her most cherished traditions was hosting her legendary New Year’s Day brunch, an event that brought family and friends together in celebration, year after year.
Sharon lived for adventure and connection. Whether she was traveling, cruising the seas, or simply gathering with loved ones, she embraced every experience with excitement and gratitude.
A Legacy of Love
Sharon’s radiant spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughters, Nakeia Johnson and Taylor Osbey (Jaylen); her adored grandchildren, Xavier, Jaden, Juliana, and Jersey; her loving brothers, John R.
