Sue Boyd was born on October 30, 1934, to the late Harry and Hester Boyd. She was born into a large family, the 8th of 9 brothers and sisters. She was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools and attended and graduated from John Hay High School.
She accepted Christ as a child and lived a Christin life. She maintained a career as a homemaker, wife and mother. She married Clyde Barrett, Jr. on August 23, 1952. They were married for 69 years.
Sue was an avid exerciser and enjoyed dancing and walking. She loved having fun with her grandchildren, laughing, and making each moment special. She loved shopping and buying gifts. She would address herself, when she conducted business on the phone, as “This is Mrs. Clyde Barrett.” She was always so proud of her title. She will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Harry, James, Mildred, Ester, Kathleen, Robert, George and Joan; and grandson, Desmond.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Barrett Jr.; daughters, Linda Gustin (Robert), Claudette Jones (Ronald), Donna Johnson (Ronnie, deceased) and Angela Hanley (Hillman); stepdaughter, Shari Brown; grandchildren, Ronald, Melissa, Stacy, Chad, Bridgette, Jarrod, D’Angelo, Michael, Cassadi, Briana, Sara, Sherridan and Langston; great-grandchildren, LaRon, India, Chad, Christopher, Devon, Sophia, Brian, D’Angelo, Richard, Max, Farrah, Chase, Carter, Mason, Charli, Mikyla, Caleb and Lina; and a host of other family members and friends.
