Terri Lynn Bowden, lovingly known as “Mama B,” passed away on March 7, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 61.
Born on June 8, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, Terri dedicated her life to caring for others. She pursued her passion for nursing by first earning her CNA certification in Cleveland, Ohio, and later obtaining an associate degree in registered nursing from Cuyahoga Community College. Throughout her career, she worked as a registered nurse at various healthcare facilities, including Rudwick Manor in Cleveland, until her health no longer allowed her to continue.
Terri was married to Tyrone Bowden for 18 years, which produced three sons. Terri was a woman of faith who sought to strengthen her relationship with God. She found joy in music, with gospel being her favorite genre. She also enjoyed playing Zumba and did some freelance modeling in her younger years. Her lifelong commitment to service began as a candy striper during high school and continued through her work in healthcare.
She will be deeply missed by her three beloved sons: Brandon Bowden (Stacy), Bradford Bowden (Ciara), and Bronson Bowden (Tyesha). She was also blessed with seven grandchildren: Bronson Bowden Jr., Brielle Bowden, Braylon Bowden, Brayshun Bowden, Te’niya Bowden, Bradford Bowden Jr., and Brooklynn Bowden. Additionally, she is survived by her Mother Barbara Story, Brothers Carlton Story, Tyrone Story Jr (Cheryl) Sarim Story (Tracy) aunt Bernice Alston and Uncle Robert (Bobby) Story, along with many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Tyrone Story, sister-in-law Christine Story and nephew Blake Story.
Terri’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
