Terry Lee Hunter was born April 2, 1956, in Akron, Ohio. He was the 4th child born to the union of Henry J. Hunter and Daisy Mae Hunter. He attended Akron Public Schools.
Terry was a carpenter by trade, self taught, who taught many the craft or gave them the opportunity to earn money, working with him. He loved to garden, dance and spend time with family. In 2009, a massive stroke left him immobilized to a wheelchair. You could often see Terry out on the towpath of Summit Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. Hunter and Daisy Mae Hunter; brothers, Lawrence Hunter, Greg Hunter, and Henry Hunter Jr.; son-in-law, Eric Helm and granddaughter, Janiya Helm and nephew, Tyrone “Papa” Ollison.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 38 years, Judy Hogg; children, Andre Williams, JaSunya Washington, Antione Williams, Jamie Hogg, and Jamara Ackles, all of Akron, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom he considered his children and loved dearly; his siblings, Gladys (Ivory) Washington, Jeff Hunter, Phillip Hunter, Hilary (Jennifer) Hunter, Tyrone (Emeldare) Hunter, Barbara Ann Hunter, Shelly Ann Hunter of Akron, Willie Hunter of Philadelphia and Vera Moon of Enterprise, Alabama.
