Tommy “TMAC” McDaniel beloved husband, grandfather, great-grandfather of 26 and friend passed away on September 23, 2024.
Tommy was born and raised in Akron, Ohio to the late Samuel and Shirley McDaniel. He was proceeded in death by his siblings Henry, Cecil Harold and Marilyn. He is survived by his wife Barbara Lucille, daughters Tanya Palmer, Mineta Harris, and Son Derryl (Karen) Matthews, siblings Diane (Lee) Winfrey, Katherine Beacham and a host of grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
TMAC graduated from Howard Vocational High School in 1964 majoring in Commerical Arts. He joined the US Army in 1965 where he was a wheel and track mechanic until honorably discharged with a National Defense Service Medal in 1967. In 1982 he graduated from Akron Machine Institue with an Associates.
Tommy was employed at Saks Electric from 1964 to 1967 as a utility worker. Assisting engineers and electricians in industrial, commercial and residential projects. From 1967 to 1979 he worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber company as a Banbury Operator. TMAC worked for A. Schulman Inc from 1988 until he retired in 2001. The last 25 years he was a Sculpture Assistant to Woodrow Nash at the Woodrow Nash Studios helping create sculptures and paintings purchased all over the world.
Tommy was an avid bowler, Fisherman and golfer who will truly be missed.
