Valerie Ann Harvey, born on May 7, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William Lewis and Bertha Lewis, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. She was 65 years old.
Valerie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 17, a decision that guided her throughout her life. A proud graduate of East Tech High School, she completed her education in 1978. Valerie began her career at Sherwin-Williams on April 26, 1979, where she worked for many years. It was at Sherwin-Williams that she met the love of her life, Bryant Harvey. Through their shared faith, Valerie introduced Bryant to her church, which became the foundation of their relationship. On August 10, 1985, Valerie and Bryant were married and were blessed with two wonderful sons, Bryant Harvey Jr. and Ryan Harvey.
Later in life, Valerie and Bryant decided to part ways, but Valerie continued to live with strength, grace, and unwavering faith. She retired from Sherwin-Williams on October 9, 2017, after dedicating many years of service to the company. Despite the trials and tribulations life presented, Valerie remained determined to follow the narrow path to Heaven.
Valerie faced numerous health challenges, including a heart transplant, but she never wavered in her faith. She would often say, “My Daddy got me,” referring to her trust in God. With the faith of a mustard seed, Valerie faced her struggles without complaint and continued to seek God throughout her life. Her unshakable faith and determination inspired all who knew her.
Valerie was a generous person who always smiled, no matter what storm life brought her way. Her hobbies included singing, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. Valerie was the life of the party, and her joy was evident as she line danced to every song. She brought light to every gathering and was truly an inspiration and a leader to her family, friends, and community.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Lewis; her sister, Debra Renee Willis; and her brother, Ronnie Stewart. She leaves behind her two beloved sons, Bryant Harvey Jr. and Ryan Harvey. Valerie is also survived by five siblings: Clifford C. Lewis, Anthony D.
