Victoria LaVerne Kennedy (nee Houston), lovingly known as Mommy Mommy, was born July 25, 1946, in Greensboro Georgia to the late Jospeh D. Houston Jr. and Johnnie Mae Daniels. Victoria was also blessed with a bonus father, Edrick Daniels. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1951 with her parents and was educated in the Cleveland Public School System, and graduated from Glenville High School in 1964.
Victoria confessed to Christ at an early age and attended The Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church, Cleveland OH. She was a member of the Young Adult Choir, where she would later meet the love of her life.
Victoria worked for Premier Industrial Corporation for many years before being blessed with the opportunity to leave and take care of her family full time.
Victoria took immense joy in serving the people that she loved the most. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Ernest of 58 years, and a loving mother to her children Tony, Brian, and Angie. She also took care of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Victoria was affectionately known to the children in the neighborhood as Momma Winsford.
Victoria loved hard, said what she meant and meant what she said, she was known for her sense of style and ability to prepare delectable meals for her family and friends.
She departed this life on October 24, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Johnnie Mae; her sisters Jacquetta Houston – Stewart and Darlene Staples; brother Eric Daniels, and her oldest son Anthony Kennedy. Victoria leaves to cherish wonderful memories to her husband, Ernest Kennedy; son Brian Kennedy (Kayla) and daughter Angela Brand (Rodney); Daughter in law, Yvette Kennedy (Anthony); nine grandchildren, LaToya Kennedy, Teria Buford, Ronald Kennedy, Maria Kennedy, Nancy Gardner, Bria McIver (Najee), Anthony Kennedy Jr, Brandon Kennedy, Zyan Brand and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Arlene Samuels (Gary), Stacie and Stephanie Houston, brother in-laws, Bobby Kennedy (Linda), Preston Haynes, Malcom Staples and sister in-law Freda Fielder and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
