Mrs. Willi Lee Anderson (nee Carter), age 93, passed away on July 29, 2023. Born to Will and Laura Carter (nee Williams) in Knoxville, TN, on December 16, 1929, she was the oldest of three. She left for Cleveland in the early 1950s and was a member of the United Methodist Church, a long-time member of Windmeer United Methodist, and most recently a member of the Church of the Savior in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
She loved watching old movies and current events, especially politics, news, and talk shows. Despite being totally disabled with Rheumatoid Arthritis (which kept her handicapped and dependent until her death), she was strong-willed, firm, witty, and funny. A special Thank You to the staff of McGregor Gardens in East Cleveland for helping to care for her over the past 8 and a half years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Edward Louis Ramsey, Charles Neal (Shirley) Anderson, and Baby Steven Ramsey; and sister Geneva Stringer (nee Carter).
Mrs. Anderson leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Jamesena “Jami” (Charles) Smith (nee Ramsey); Ronald (Sheila) Ramsey, David (Daud) Anderson-Behar; Sherri (Mike) Durroh; Brother Elmer (Shirley) Carter; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
No services by her request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)
