William Henry Mason also known as “Billy and Henry the painter” was born to Robert Mason and Jimmie Lee Mason on May 12th, 1946 in Cleveland, OH. He was the 11th child of 13 children.
William graduated from East Technical High School in 1964. Upon high school graduation he was employed with TRW Automotive in the Valve Division. After working for a period of time at TRW, William decided to join the Air Force Reserves where he served in the Vietnam War as an airplane mechanic in 1967. He was Honorably Discharged in 1972. William returned to TRW where he worked for 37 years until retirement.
William Mason and Sarah Dickerson were wed in 1966 and together they welcomed Cassandra Mason and Jimmy Mason into the world. After sometime their marriage ended and he chose not to remarry. William later met Mary Hill, with whom they had Nakia Dixon (Jermaine) and Leslie Hill. Later on, he formed a relationship with Earnestine Davis, and from that union came Antoneo Davis. His children hold cherished memories of him.
William enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He never missed watching sports with the local teams being his favorite. He took a special interest in the lottery and
didn’t miss a day, LOL!
William accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He later rededicated his life to Christ and joined Union Avenue Christian and Missionary Alliance Church under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Mason.
William, after a battle of illness slipped away peacefully to his Heavenly Home during his brief stay at Hero’s Harbor Hospice. His siblings (Pearl, Pecolia, Geraldine, Audrey, Alice, Earnest, and Silivanus) preceded him in death.
Along with his 5 children, he also leaves to cherish his memory (12) grandchildren: Brandon, Jermaine, Jamar, Lil Jimmy, Jimiah, Lauryn, William, Jonathan, Aya, Cheyenne, MáKenzie, and Bukhari (KJ). William is survived by (2) sisters: Roberta and Elaine (2) brothers: Nathaniel, and Robert Andrew; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
