Yinitrus Louise Wynn “Niecie”
On December 28, 1953, Yinitrus Louise Wynn (“Niecie”) was born in Cleveland, Ohio to L.C. and Margaret Wynn (preceded in death). What a Christmas gift!
Niecie was the second oldest child of six children. She was born seventeen (17) months after her oldest brother, Lincoln Calvin Wynn, who shared her passion for sports, game shows, and reading. They often challenged each other’s intellect. Three years later, another sibling arrived at the Wynn house, Kalimah Johnson Muhammad “Celestine”, who shared a bedroom and many stories with her sister. A few years later three other sibling arrived and a special cousin (the house was full). Antoine Wynn, who she often protected, Kim Wynn, who shared her passion for clothes, shoes, and coats with, and Venetia Wynn-Mitchell “Lena”, who Niecie simply spoiled with love and shared late night phone conversations that were full of laughter and neighborhood news. The special cousin, Cynthia Grant Starks, was just like another sister who was equally accepted by the siblings and loved.
Niecie attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John Hay High School in 1971. After high school, Niecie decided to become a nursing professional which turned into a long successful career. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Cuyahoga Community College in 1977 while she was working as a Student Nurse at St Vincent Charity Hospital. After graduating she worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, and achieved various advanced certifications to enhance her nursing skills and knowledge. While at St. Luke’s she advanced to Head Nurse and in 1996 she received the Mary E. Johnston Nursing Excellence Award. During her nursing career, Niecie decided to become adventurous and worked two jobs nursing and sold Mary Kay Cosmetics, and she excelled in both jobs. She earned numerous Outstanding Achievement awards and top-seller awards as a Mary Kay Consultant from 1995 through 2000. As the Healthcare Industry evolved with computer technology, Niecie made a wise decision to invest time in learning how computers would assist healthcare professionals in servicing patients in a more efficient manner. So, she became a Healthcare Information Technology Consultant for various hospitals and companies such as Cleveland Clinic, Dell, IBM, and Healthlink. In June 2006, Niecie achieved a certification in Epic Care Ambulatory which allowed her to continue training physicians and nurses on new and upgraded computer systems. Eventually, she started her own consulting service called “One More Click” to provide personal service to various companies.
Niecie worked hard and played even harder. There wasn’t a cruise ship that she did not like. She cruised to many places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. The home of Elvis was her favorite place – Las Vegas. She probably visited Vegas on a yearly basis. Niecie loved Vegas shows and pulling a slot machine from time to time. She would vacation by herself or with friends; either way she was going on vacation. Niecie loved her pets especially her dogs, and she was an avid sports fan. She attended all types of sporting events in Cleveland and in other cities. Niecie played tennis and golf with her brother-in-law (Timothy S. Mitchell). Niecie was also a devoted friend. She had a life-long best friend, Barbara Ann Kent-Johnson, who was her neighbor one street away when they were growing up. Barb and Niecie were two peas in a pot that talked and laughed every day, and went on several vacations together. Yes, they went to Las Vegas. Niecie had two special Godchildren; LaQuisha Johnson and Desmond Kent.
Niecie departed this life to be with the Lord on July 23, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory her beautiful brothers and sisters, loving uncles and aunts, wonderful nieces and nephews, brother and sister-in laws, cousins, and a host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
