George has been a member of the Stewart and Calhoun Funeral and Cremation Services Family for 6 years assisting families with funeral services including visiting hours, and he is also a first responder. He holds an Associate Degree from Tri-C Community College and served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. George comes from a legacy of service-oriented, family-owned businesses such as Mixon’s Barber Shop and Mixon’s Deli. Continuing on in the family tradition, George worked for 37 years as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

George was married for 42 years to his first wife and high school sweetheart, Judith, who is now deceased. Together they have 3 children, Marcus, Tiffany, and Alexis. George is married to Marilyn O’Stricker (2015). He is also the proud grandfather to Cooper and Carly. George has been a member of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church since 1969 and serves on the Usher Board. His hobbies include roller skating, cycling, and ballroom dancing.
