Marvin J. Davies, III, brings over 8 years of dedicated experience in funeral services to Calhoun Funeral Home. As a licensed funeral director, he facilitates both at-need and pre-need arrangements, offering compassionate guidance to families during their most difficult times. Mr. Davies is deeply committed to providing professional, respectful, and personalized services, including conducting funeral and memorial services and overseeing internments, inurnments, and entombments.

Prior to joining Calhoun Funeral Home, Mr. Davies honed his skills as an apprentice funeral director at a SCI firm in East Cleveland, OH, where he was actively involved in managing the day-to-day operations, directing traditional funeral and memorial services, and overseeing cremation services. His experience includes working closely with families to make final arrangements and coordinating the necessary documentation and processes with compassion and efficiency.

Mr. Davies’ career in funeral services is complemented by a solid background in finance and operation management.  He has seven years of experience managing fiscal and operations units for Cuyahoga County.  He last served as the Director of Finance and Operations for the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor until March 2016.  Prior, to that appointment, he served as the Fiscal Services Manager at the Cuyahoga Board of Elections.  Mr. Davies began his career in public service in Cuyahoga County in April 2005, as a Budget Management Analyst in the Office of Budget and Management.  Prior to coming to Cuyahoga County, Mr. Davies spent seven years in the public sector at the world headquarters of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as a financial analyst.  His diverse skill set, which spans budgeting, management, and client service, further enhances his ability to provide exceptional service to the families he serves.

Mr. Davies graduated from Morehouse College in 1996, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in Business Administration with a concentration in Corporate Finance. Mr. Davies is a proud graduate of the Cleveland State University Leadership Academy XVI, serves as a Deacon and Chairman of the Emmanuel Baptist Church Board of Trustees, and Campaign Treasurer for U.S Representative Shontel Brown.

Since 1998, Mr. Davies serves the community as the proprietor of MJD Tax & Accounting Service, specializing in individual tax return preparation. In July 2000, he married LaKisha, and together they are proud parents of two adult children, Morgan and Marvin IV.   Mr. Davies is also a licensed life insurance agent and Notary Public.
