Minister Atkins attended Lakeland Community College and Spring Garden Automotive Institute where he graduated and received an Automotive Certification. He is an active member of the United Holy Church of America Northwestern District where he is the President of the Usher’s Department and he is currently a member of New Covenant United Holy Church where he is an Associate Minister, Deacon, and Trustee. Minister Atkins is the former President of the Lake County NAACP and former President of the Nurturing Committee of Habitat for Humanity of Lakeland County.

Minister Atkins is a resident of Youngstown, Ohio and formerly resided in Painesville, Ohio. Minister Atkins and his wife, Celestine, have a blended family of 3 daughters, 1 son, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
