Veronica is the Community Outreach Specialist for Stewart and Calhoun Funeral Home and Cremation Services. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Political Science, both from the University of Akron. Veronica is a seasoned administrator with over 25 years of experience in the public and non-profit arena.

Veronica was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She is married to Quintin Sims and together they have a beautiful daughter named Qyra. She is passionate about community-building and takes immense joy in empowering people and connecting them to needed resources. She is a member of the Leadership Akron Class #31. Veronica is a past member of the Akron Public School Board, Akron City Councilwoman-At-Large, and currently serves as Summit County City Councilwoman representing Ward 5.
