Abram Raynard Williams Sr. (“Slim”) was born on October 2, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the fourth child born to Abraham and Lue J. Williams.
Abram graduated from Shaw High School in 1975. He worked in the construction field and for the cities of Beachwood and Maple Heights before becoming a truck owner-operator. He enjoyed watching old westerns, basketball, football, and boxing—an overall sports fanatic. He also had a deep love for music, from blues and jazz to R&B, hip-hop, and rap. Simply put, “Slim” had soul. But more than anything, he cherished spending time with family and friends.
Abram was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Williams; his mother, Lue J. Williams; his brothers, Bertram and Frank Williams; his sisters, Adriane Williams and Joanne Hill; his daughter-in-law, De’Andreya Haskins; and his beloved wife, Belinda Williams, whom he loved dearly.
He leaves behind his only child, Abram R. Williams II, and his grandchildren: Sarai Williams, Lariyah (great-granddaughter), Abram R. Williams III, Abraham A. Williams, Zuri Williams, Derrick Hall, Jamal Benson, and Cory Benson. He is also survived by his dear sister, Valerie Gay (Tony Gay); his brother, Antonio Robinson; LaToya Bonner, the mother of his grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends.
