Alicia Denise Garnett, 56, entered the resting arms of the Lord on April 16, 2026, after a short illness.
A lifelong resident of Akron, Alicia was a dedicated employee of the City of Akron Engineering Department for over 25 years.
She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Mark Garnett, on October 21, 1999.
Alicia had a deep love for music, singing, and playing bass guitar and keyboard. She co-founded the band Leather & Lace and enjoyed performing throughout the Akron area. She also loved nature, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Mark Garnett; father Willie Portis; daughters, Megan Hunter and Angel Garnett; stepdaughter Shanell Bussey; her siblings, Angela Jackson, Aundrea Stormer, Ronnie Atani Cooper, and Randy Cooper; grandchildren Avani Scott, Al John Hunter (III) ,Amelia Lester; step grandchildren Demoni, Dai’Leon, De’Anthony , De’Royal, De’Masiyah, Da’Myracle; step great granddaughter Camilla; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her and whom she loved dearly.
