Mrs. Aline Evans was born on October 31, 1927, in Birmingham Alabama to the late Albert and Effie Glover. She was the third of four children. She had one brother Albert James, Jr. and two sisters, Louise Cameron and Vivian Thomas. Her parents, her brother, and both sisters proceeded her in death.
Aline moved to Cleveland in the 1940’s where she met and married Charles W. Evans on March 13, 1949. She attended public school in Birmingham before she moved to Cleveland. There were three children born to this matrimony Roy, Gloria and Effie Laverne.
Aline worked for the Huntington Bank and the Cleveland Public School System. Her occupation was Housekeeping and a Cafeteria Lunch Attendant. After working hard for most of her life, she retired from the Cleveland Public School System and decided all she was going to do was stay at home, relax, watch TV, and travel. Some of her favorite TV shows were the soap operas, the Young and the Restless and All My Children. She loved to listen to her music especially, BB King, The Thrill Is Gone, and Bobby Blue Bland.
Aline accepted Christ at an early age, and she worshiped and praised God. She always prayed for her family and encouraged us. She taught us that God would take care of us, no matter the situation He would always be with us. She loved watching the Gospel Channel and listening to Pastor TD Jakes.
Aline enjoyed many activities such as spending time in her earlier years with her sister, Louise, and her club members, the Sophisticated Ladies. They traveled together taking trips to the dog races and various other trips, playing card games, Pokeno, and Bingo. She also had a love for pets, her beloved dogs. Her favorite dog was Precious. He would sit next to her, watch her with his big black eyes, and he would not move until she moved.
She also enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren for family get togethers during the holidays, cooking, baking and preparing meals. Her favorite dessert was banana pudding. The family would always gather around when she baked that pudding.
God blessed our family. Aline was the matriarch of the family and departed this life at the age of 95 on November 11, 2022. Aline leaves to cherish her memories: her three children Roy (Barbara), Gloria (Michael) and Effie Laverne (Luadrie), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
