Obituary for Allan Keith Lunda
Allan Keith Lunda was born on October 3, 1948, and peacefully departed this life on April 14, 2026. He will be remembered as a man of faith, generosity, and warmth whose presence touched countless lives.
At an early age, Allan was baptized and developed a deep and abiding love for God. He remained a devoted and faithful member of Grace Cathedral, where he found joy in worship and fellowship throughout his life.
Allan was known for his friendly spirit and kind heart. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Truly selfless, he was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
He was educated in the Akron Public School system and proudly graduated from Buchtel High School. He continued his education with one year of college before answering the call to serve his country. Allan honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his courage and dedication.
His impact on the community is lasting and visible, including the artistic mural of Rita Dove, the poet, on the outside wall of Maple Valley Library. His artistic talent has earned him numerous civic accolades and awards both locally and beyond.
Allan was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Dorothy Almeda Clemons; his mother, Ruth Millirons-Lunda ; his father, Edward Lunda; and his brothers, Ramu [Donald] Lunda.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings, Elliott (Diane) Lunda and Karen Lunda McGregor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones
Allan’s legacy of faith, kindness, and generosity will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Alan was a truly special brother in the Lord. We absolutely adored him. I had the privilege of serving alongside him for many years in the Lord’s work. He was always a joy and a blessing—someone who could bring a smile to my face and brighten everyone’s day.
I will miss his smile greatly, especially the way he would call my name. But I just know he will be at the gates of glory to greet me, just as he always did at the house of the Lord here on earth.
