Allee Ray Bell Sr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 29, 1952, to Albert Bell and Doris Bell (Green) both from Alabama who preceded him in death. He was the oldest son of five children leaving behind four siblings: Chenita, Gary, Timothy, and Katrina.
Allee attended Cleveland Public Schools. His first jobs included working with The City of Cleveland’s Summer Jobs Program and being a paperboy for The Cleveland Press Newspaper. He loved reading, especially comic books, drawing, and took a special interest in music. Allee loved going to amusement parks and outdoor activities with family and friends. He accepted Christ at a very early age, attending Liberty Hill Baptist Church and Sunday School.
Allee Sr. married Dorothy J. Ross in November 1973, to their union one son, Allee R. Bell Jr., was born. He later married Michelle Wiggins in September 2018.
Allee Jr. married Erron L. Simmons, his college sweetheart. To their union two children were born, Allee Ray III and Lauren Sidney-Ray.
Allee began working at Ford Motor Company during his senior year of high school and retired after working more than forty years. During his career at Ford, some of his positions included press operator, forklift driver, and supervisor. During layoff periods at Ford, he also worked at The Cleveland Plain Dealer and Po Boy’s Restaurant.
Allee’s hobbies and interests included photography, chess, bowling, shooting pool, playing cards, cruising on his motorcycle, reading science fiction, and going to the movies and drive-ins. He loved traveling either by plane, motorcycle, or car. Allee and Michelle would ride together on his motorcycle. She would hold him so tight that he couldn’t breathe until she became more comfortable with riding. Allee shared his hobbies with family and friends. He worked as a backyard mechanic with his father-in-law during one of the layoffs from Ford. He would tell you when something was wrong with your car, and what needed to be done to fix it.
Allee Sr. lived life to the fullest. He loved taking little Allee Jr. on trips, to the movies and amusement parks, including Cedar Point, Kings Island, Sea World, and Geauga Lake. Allee’s greatest joys were his grandchildren, Allee R. III and Lauren Sidney-Ray, whom he spoiled.
Allee’s nickname, Little Sonny, was given to him by the family. He was also known as a debater. He would challenge you about anything, just for the fun of it. Allee loved family and friends. If you were his friend, you were a friend for life. When it came to the family, all the nieces were princesses, and he loved playing pranks on the nephews. After his marriage to Michelle, he gained even more nieces and nephews. Allee became the family photographer and had a collection of thousands of pictures from every gathering.
On Thursday, September 14, Allee peacefully departed this life to rest free of pain and united eternally with other departed family members and friends. He is survived by his loving and caring family, wife Michelle, son Allee R. Jr., daughter-in-law Erron L., grandchildren Allee R. III and Lauren Sydney-Ray, siblings; Chenita, Gary (Renee), Timothy (Barbara) Katrina (Rosevelt), brothers-in-law Michael Wiggins (deceased) and Elijah Wiggins (Terri), Barbara J. Bell (stepmother), Alice Flanigan (aunt), and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and his faithful and caring dog, “Mya Dog”.
