Allison L. Rox was born in love on November 23, 1955 in Cleveland Ohio to Diane V. Walker and Jimmy D. Smith.
When Allison was a child, she enjoyed swimming and skating. She also enjoyed going to free concerts at Luke Easter Woodhill Park. Allison was educated through the Cleveland Public System and attended John Adams High School.
Allison was a very humorous person “cracking jokes” on the porch with her family. She was a firm believer in Christ our Lord.
She was a hardworking, blue-collar woman working in the Nickel Salts Department as a Utility Person for “Harshaw Chemicals” for over a decade.
Allison was the rock of the family, the torch of everlasting flame, motivator, always told the truth when you didn’t want to hear it, protector. She was there for you right or wrong. She was our comfort zone, the pure definition of what a mother should be. She had unconditional love for EVERYBODY she encountered. She could bring light to a dark room!!!
Allison departed from us all on June 15, 2023. She was preceded in death joining the homecoming of parents, Diane V. Walker and Jimmy D. Smith, two sisters Joanne Rox and Alene Rox, nephew Marvin Rox, a host of uncles, aunties, cousins. Words from your spouse “you will be missed, your thoughtful mind, your loving heart, your caring spirit, beautiful soul, and strength that you possessed”
Allison is survived by her once husband Donald DeVaughn Sr., brother Jimmy Smith, four sons Jeffery Rox, Aluan Rox, Donovan Glass, and Donald DeVaughn Jr., two daughters Shandora DeVaughn and Shantail DeVaughn, nephew Michael Bryant, family, friends, and a host of granddaughters, grandsons, and cousins.
