Alvin D. Logan was born August 2, 1951, in Montgomery, Alabama to Mrs. Gillie B. Lofton. After migrating to Akron, Ohio during his formative years, Alvin graduated from South High School. Upon graduation, he entered the Army and was honorably discharged in 1973.
When he returned home from the Army, he married and to this union a beautiful baby girl, Brantress, was born. She was a joy and light to his life. Later, Alvin re-married to the love of his life, Ernestine, on July 6, 2016.
During this time, he worked as a car mechanic and brick layer until he retired. However, even in his retirement, he took on odd jobs, like yardwork, to keep busy. Alvin loved the outdoors and was known to help anyone in need.
Alvin, affectionately called “Smoke” by friends, was a caring man with a quiet demeanor. However, when he spoke, his words were meaningful and to the point. He loved listening to jazz and the blues; his favorite artists being Johnny Taylor, Charlie Wilson, and B.B. King.
Although Alvin did not attend church on a regular basis, his profession was that he loved God.
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, Alvin departed from this earthly life at his home in Akron.
