Amanda Monae Padgett was a strong, bright-eyed woman whose vibrant spirit left a mark on those she knew. Amanda, who was affectionately known as “Manda” or “Mandy,” was born in Cleveland, OH on April 18, 1992 to Jacqueline “Jackie” Frazier and William Padgett.
Mandy’s life was a true testament to her strong will and determination. She was a Lupus Warrior diagnosed at the tender age of fourteen. Although her life was filled with medical complexities,
Manda’s boundless fight for life was admirable. Amanda’s journey through life was filled with varied experiences and challenges. Growing up as her mother’s only child, Amanda was always surrounded with lots of cousins that included countless sleepovers and giggles from the time they were kids with hair bows and burettes to bikes and cars. Manda and her cousins loved one another.
Educated through the Cleveland Public School District, Amanda was determined to graduate. In 2011, Manda graduated from Horizon Science Academy In Cleveland, OH. Soon after, she met Devontae Nunery. And against medical advice on December 11, 2012 Mandy gave birth to her precious daughter Amya. Mandy truly loved Amaya and oftentimes they would watch movies and videos together, completing colorful pictures together which they enjoyed a lot all while eating their favorite food and snacks.
Mandy had an “Old Soul” when it came to music because of her dad. Ever since she was a small child she would recognize hits by the Dramatics and Temptations by saying, “My dad listens to this music all the time.” Manda knew she could hold a lengthy phone conversation. When she called you, you best have been prepared to sit, laugh and maybe even help her solve a “True Crime.” She loved to watch the First 48 and Unsolved Mysteries. Amanda truly loved all her family and cousins and you knew to find her on 114th.
Your resilience and uniqueness will always resonate with us. Spirit and stories told through your legacy Amya, pictures and memories will live on in our hearts eternally.
