Angelia Joy Houston was born on December 15, 1962, in Cleveland Ohio to her loving parents Roy and Eva Allison. Angelia, better known to all of us as Angie, shared her childhood growing up with her siblings Marceau and Marcia James. She also shared a household full of cousins and full of love.
Angie attended Cleveland Central Catholic High School where she graduated, and welcomed her very first child, a baby girl by the name Lakeshia Renee Allison or as we know her KeeKee. From the very first moment she became a mom, she devoted her life to raising her baby. She was always attending church making sure she kept God first in her life while walking in her motherhood shoes.
Angie, while continuing to be a mother, attended classes at Myers College where she studied Management. She had her hands full with working, going to class at night and also being a mother to her young daughter but the person she was she did it effortlessly and made it look so easy.
Angie went on to give birth to her middle child, her only baby boy, Kenneth Duane Pearcy Jr. and then her final child, her baby girl Carmen Nicole Pearcy. Angie soon started her career with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Board of Education in 1983. She later went on to become the secretary at Collinwood Middle School in 1992. She was a safe haven to the children she grew to love for so many years. She oversaw Collinwood Middle school transition from a middle school to high school where she continued to be a leader in the office as a Chief Secretary.
Angie rededicated her life to the Lord because she knew he had never left her. In 2008 she joined Crown of life Ministries where her lifelong sister friend Darlene Clinkscales and Caleb Clinkscales were her First Lady and Pastor. After her continuous dedication to her church and the Lord she was appointed as a Deaconess where she served and walked in the purpose that God anointed her with. She was greatly known for serving others in so many other capacities. She was faithful in her service as Secretary, Sunday School teacher, working with Pastor’s Aide and Hospitality committee. She also was proclaimed the only Spaghetti and grilled cheese maker at the Crown.
On April 20, 2002, Angie married the love of her life, Davey A Houston and their worlds became one. He loved her and she loved him, what a romance. Angie retired from being a Chief Secretary at Collinwood High school in June 2017. After retirement Angie spent her time serving the Lord and her church, being a loving mother and being an active grandmother to her four grandchildren, Taylor and Paul Walton, Chereese Houser and Josiah Harris. When Angie wasn’t taking care of her grandchildren, she loved on her dog Milo, and her cat, Ms. Mittens. Angie dedicated her life to caring and loving others like Dorcas did in the bible. She was a counselor, a referee, a wife, a sister, a chef, and her favorite hat of all time, known as Nana. We can’t count all the lives Angie touched with her love and caring personality and sense of humor.
Angie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Davey A Houston Sr., her three children, Lakeshia Allison (Paul); Kenneth Pearcy, and Carmen Pearcy. Her other children; Davey A Houston Jr., Deanna Houston, Stephen Houston Sr. and Lynette Houston-Volden (Steven). Her grandchildren Taylor and Paul Walton, Chereese Houser and Josiah Harris and other grandchildren. She leaves behind a brother, Marceau James; a sister Marcia James, along with Larry and Tony Branch, and Bernard James. Her very best friends Deborah Howell, Marjorie Brown, Robynn Dukes and Darlene Clinkscales. She also leaves behind a multitude of mentors, sisters and brothers in the Lord, cousins near and far, nieces, nephews and other close family that loved her so much. We love and miss you, but we know God loved you best.
