Angelo Peyton Jeffries-Hodges passed away peacefully on September 14, 2019. He was born July 29, 1957, in Akron, OH to Curtis Hodges-Gwen and the Late Oscar Peyton Jeffries. Angelo was a graduate from “Big Blue” South High School in 1976. Angelo worked at A-Merry Old’s, Perkins Cake & Steak Restaurant, Asplundh Tree Company, McDonalds and his last employer was Polymerics Rubber Company where he retired. While working at Perkins Cake & Steak as a cook, he met the love of his life, a waitress, Rhonda, who would later become his wife. To this union were born 3 children and as a bonus came his son, by a previous relationship. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. Angelo enjoyed fishing, and talking about the biggest fish he caught, and how he out fished everyone else. His favorite fishing partner was his son, Tony. He also had a love for guns, and he was a gun collector as well as going to the gun range. Angelo was an army within himself, and he was ready for war to protect and serve at any time necessary for his family. Angelo enjoyed his grandchildren and his 7 granddaughters, and all his girls were his little princess, not one was treated differently from the others. He had one grandson, who he called his big dawg and nicknamed him “Man.” He had a short time with, but he loved him very much and he told everyone he encountered about him. Angelo loved his wife dearly, who he called, “Honda” or “Judy.” She was his #1 girl and his best friend.
Angelo is preceded in death by his father, Oscar P. Jeffries; grandmother, Eula Mae Brockington; brother, Marchello Jeffries; grandson, Xavier Hodges; granddaughter, Marley K. Hodges; brothers-in-law, Jessie James, Donald James, and Todd James.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rhonda Marie James-Hodges; daughter, Angela M. Hodges; sons, Angelo P. Atchison, Tony P. Hodges and Ashton P. (Markie) Hodges; mother, Curtis Hodges-Gwen; sisters, , Abigail (James) Smith, Lolita (Jerome) Quinn, Curtis Jeffries, Angelique Gordon, Tamika Gordon and Heather Gordon; brothers, Tyrone Jeffries, Elvis (Marie) Jeffries, Beauford Jeffries (J-Bird), Shaundallantone Jeffries, Stephone (Stacy) Jeffries, Bobby (Rae) Jackson Dante’ Gordon; mother-in-law, Estella Bushner; brother-in-law, Timothy (Lisa) Bushner and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
