Anita Ellen Spencer’s daughter of the late Minister Richard and Bobbie Gray was born August 25, 1962 in Welch, West Virginia. She was the youngest of three children to bless this union. A brother Floyd Gray and half-brother Lloyd Tilley and brother-law William Scott preceded her into death. Anita Spencer attended Welch Elementary School in Welch West Virginia. Until the family relocated to Cleveland Ohio in 1970. Where she attends Mary Bethune School and John Hay High School.  Anita Spencer confessed and acknowledged Christ at a young age and was baptized when the family reunited with The Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Under the Pastorate of the Late Pastor L. T. Randall Sr. in 1972.  Anita was united in Holy Matrimony to Jeffery Houston Sr.  To this union 5 children were born. All five were baptized under the pastorate of the Late Pastor L. T. Randall Sr.  Where she attended for many years. Anita remarried years later to Reginald Spencer. No children were born through this union. She loved cooking and sharing photos of her meals, and she loved travelling.

Anita became a member of City View Church of Cleveland Ohio where she was a faithful member for approximately 7 years under the Pastorate Ken Dockery.  She loved this Church and their members and she was also loved in return.  Anita was greeted by the Lord and called home after 4-year prolonged illness on Sunday Jan 26, 2025.

She leaves many loving memories to be mourned and cherished. Her loving children Jefferie Houston Jr. (Charlene), Alisha Houston, Terry Houston, Bryant Houston, Christopher Houston; her sister Dona Scott, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and acquaintances cherish her memory.
