Anita L. Johnson, affectionately known as Grandma J, was born November 11, 1957, to Peter and Ethel James. She departed this life here on earth on April 13, 2022, at 4:44 PM.
Anita was truly one of a kind. She was the best mother anyone could have; she loved her three boys with her whole soul and her seven grandchildren was her life, her pride and joy. Anita was a mother figure to many, if you ever were hungry or needed a place to rest your head her home was always open, never turning away anyone that needed her.
Anita looked forward to the holidays to spend it with her family, especially after she spent all night cooking an amazing meal prepared with so much love. We certainly can not forget her favorite musician, Stevie Wonder—she loved that man.
In her free time, Anita enjoyed watching Law & Order & General Hospital, as well as reading books she would get from the library every few weeks. There will never be another Grandma J.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Peter; mother, Ethel James; husband, Keith Harper; brothers, Frank, Curtis, and Jesse James; grandparents, Hattie and Clarence Merchant, Arnetta Shear and Jesse James.
