Anna Sue Avent was born on August 28, 1944, to J.C. and Isabelle Avent in Medina, Ohio. She was educated in the Akron Public School system and graduated from South High School. Later, Anna attended the University of Akron in pursuit of a nursing degree.
She was employed at Louis Stokes Veteran Administration Medical Center, where she later retired after many years of service.
Anna Sue met Robert L. Williams and remained with him for the rest of his life. Their relationship created a new chapter in life filled with love and travel. Robert loved Anna and her daughters and initiated travelling to Tennessee to spend time with her parents.
Anna accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Old Jones Chapel in Grand Junction, Tennessee. She was later baptized in the name of Jesus at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio.
Anna was quick to fulfill the needs and desires of the people around her; she found joy in helping family, friends, and strangers with clothing, food, and even furnishing their homes as she loved to decorate. She was truly a humble provider and protector. In her spare time, Anna loved bringing her family and friends together with food, fun, and music. She loved to cook, and her home was the gathering place for everyone at any time. Anna Sue loved playing poker, bingo, and keno. She also enjoyed attending garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores all over the area.
On January 9, 2023, Anna Sue Avent was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jesse, and Mattie Avent; maternal grandparents, Dayton, and Easter Fason; loving parents, J.C., and Isabelle Avent; brothers, R.D. & L.B.
