Annie Lee was born in Grand Bay Alabama on August 21, 1935 to the union of John Alexander and Laralee Tate.
Annie Lee married Arthur Leo Steven on April 14, 1953 to that union were four children. Charles, Veronica, Terri, and Monique.
She moved to Cleveland Ohio in 1955 where she spent most of her days being a homemaker. Annie worked as a seamstress for Bobbie Brooks Company for a few years and loved to sew. She was very particular of making sure that her seams and points matched.
Being the oldest girl in her family, the role of a mother started at a very early age. (Sister) helped raise her younger sibling, her children and had an important role in raising all her grandchildren so that her children could work.
Annie loved traveling, camping, shopping, and her main love was buying and selling at garage sales and any flea market. She was a bargainer who wasn’t taken anything less than her sticker price but could bargain you down to almost getting it for free. She made yearly trips to Alabama up until the time they could no longer travel. Although she did not like to fly her husband made sure that the family went all over the United States.
Cooking and baking were her passions. Macaroni and Cheese, Carrot Cake, 7up Cake, Banana Pudding and don’t forget that homemade Ice Cream were some of her specialties. To this day no one has her recipes. She mixed them up with fake recipes to throw us off, she would sit back and laugh about it, but would let us know we could always sit and watch her make them.
She was preceded in death by her loving father John Alexander Tate, mother Laralee Tate, Brothers Richard and James Tate, Sister Brenda Phillips.
Annie leaves to cherish her memories a loving devoted husband of 70 years, Arthur Leo Steven of Cleveland Ohio; four children, Charles Steven of Bedford OH, Veronica Buchanan of Shaker Heights OH, Terri (Craig) Williams of Shaker Heights OH, Monique (Robert) Mitchell of Bedford OH.
