Annie Lois “Neuby” Bluntt was born in Union Springs, AL to Roscoe and Mary Lou Finkley. Lois accepted Christ at an early age and moved to Akron at a young age.
She attended Antioch Baptist Church, in Akron, Ohio, where she served as part of the missionary society, welcoming committee, and the choir. Also, she was part of a duet with her sister, and they sang at different events.
Lois worked at Mr. Conley Chicken and Seafood Market as a bookkeeper and sales. She also worked at General Hospital in dietary before moving on to Robinson’s Department Store and O’Neils, which would eventually become Macy’s. She worked in retail for 43 years and later retired. She belonged to various Masonic affiliations such as Eastern Stars, P.M. Mary Chapter #47 O.E.S., P.M.A.M. EL Zerubbabel Court #5, Heroines of Jericho, P.M.A.P., a member of Al-Kaf Court #144, Daughters Akron, Ohio, and past President of the Suburbanite Club.
Lois married Willie James “Jack” Bluntt on March 1, 1951. Lois and Willie loved one another and lived “la Vida Loca.” She was “Baby,” and he was “Buddy.” They enjoyed traveling, partying, working at the lodge, and working in the church together. They were together for 52 years and married for 50 years, until the time of his passing on September 29, 2001. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Roscoe and Mary Lou Finkley; brother, Dean Burney; sister, Thelma L. Burney; mother-in-law, Willie Eva Bluntt; father-in-law, Rev. Claudius Bluntt; and daughter, Roslyn L. Bluntt.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory daughter Phyllis Bluntt Johnson of Akron, OH; son, Jakki L. (LaJuanna) Bluntt of Los Angeles, CA; grandsons, Jacciah L. (Tiffany) Bluntt, Las Vegas, NV, Jasha L. Bluntt, Los Angeles, CA, Jesreal L. (Eden) Bluntt, Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters, Judeah L. Bluntt, Las Vegas, NV, Jameah L. Johnson-Effionayi, Akron, OH; great-grandchildren, Naria Bluntt, Zorah Bluntt, Amaris Bluntt, JioVonni J. Jackson, Ja’Liyah J.
