Mrs. Turner, affectionately known to me as Annie Ruth, and my family go way back to the days when Deacon and Mother Pettigrew lived on Wade Park Avenue, just around the corner from my grandparents on East 86th Street. Learning of her passing truly breaks my heart. Annie Ruth was an incredible woman who made things happen. She was full of wisdom and survival knowledge, and the phrase that resonates so much today is, “She didn’t play about her family.”
There is so much more I could say, but I’ll finish by expressing my prayers for her family. I love you all sincerely to the moon and beyond. Most importantly, I believe that God, through His Son, Jesus Christ, will help us navigate through this difficult time.
May the legacy of this phenomenal woman live on...
Sincerely,
Matt Andrus Murray, Sr.

I’m so deeply sorry to hear about your mom. There are no words that can take away the pain, but I want you to know you’re not going through this alone.
I believe your mother was such a special person, and it’s clear how much of her lives on in you—your kindness, your strength, and the way you care about others. I hope, in time, your memories of her bring more comfort than sadness.
Please lean on Judge Horton and I however you need right now—whether it’s to talk, sit in silence, share stories about her, or just have someone nearby. We're here for you, today and in the days ahead.
With all our love and sympathy.
Judge Brett Horton/ Antonio McMullen

Moms was good to me. She included me on family outings such as drive-in movies, roller skating, roller derby’s. I could sit and talk with her for hours…and did. We would sit on her porch and she would share the tea. I will always love and miss her. My deepest sympathies to Regina, Shawna, Shelia, and all of her grands who she loved dearly. I also want to express my condolences to everyone who loved her.
