Anthony Davis was born on January 15, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio to the proud parents of Maud Davis and Tony Davis Jr. (deceased). Anthony confessed his faith and belief in Christ at an early age and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Growing up Anthony was educated in the Cleveland Public School system and attended Collinwood High School. Anthony worked multiple jobs including caring affectionately for seniors within their homes alongside establishing his entrepreneurial landscaping business named after his father, T.D. ‘s Lawn Care for which he took great pride in.
Anthony loved and valued his family, he took care of his grandmother, Manieva Vance, until the end of her life. Throughout his life’s journey, Anthony created several friendships which included his lifelong friend Samuel Edwards. In 2001, he met his wife Yolanda Baker whom he married on June 27, 2008. The two shared a loving, supportive marriage while raising their son Jak’I.
Anthony had several favorite pastimes that he enjoyed which included riding his Harley-Davidson, being a part of the motorcycle club, entertaining his family and friends, barbecuing, and riding to Hillsboro, Alabama listening to his R&B and Jazz. Anthony was known for his favorite saying, “Right On”. Anthony loved his suits, cowboy hats and boots. Anthony was a TV extraordinaire and loved a good movie.
Anthony’s “animal” companion was Storm. Storm and Anthony traveled the city together cutting grass and listening to oldies but goodies. They were inseparable and Storm was at his side until the very end. Anthony loved his niece and nephew Jason and Jashauna whom he fondly referred to as Little Whopper and Spanky. Anthony attended all their memorable events and babysat them throughout their youth. Anthony had a great bond with his son Jak’I, whom he referred to as Shorty. He was supportive when Jak’I won his first robotics competition in St. Louis. Anthony instilled his family values and ability of entrepreneurship; and took joy watching Jak’I open his first business ‘Mint Auto Detailing’, while they shared their love for cars.
On the morning of October 14, 2022, Anthony received his wings to go home to be with the LORD. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Maud Davis, his loving wife, Yolanda. Sons, Quinton, Jason, and Jak’I. Brothers, Lamar and Myron (Melvina). Sisters, Hazel, Peggy Ann, and Rozita. Nephews, Tyrone, Eric, Jamar (LeTisha), and Jason. Nieces, Monica (Clarence), Adrian, Ashley, Cheria, Cindy, Monae, Jashauna, and TiZhaunna. In addition, he will truly be missed by a host of loving family members and friends. Anthony, WE thank you for all your love, kindness, and joy. Your light will live on in our hearts forever. Rest peacefully!
