Anthony Williams was born April 6, 1948, to our Beloved Sarah Williams and Willis Solomon in Cleveland. Ohio.
He attended the Cleveland Metropolitan School system, was a high schooler at Thomas Edison, and met his first love Mary Delores (preceding him in death), and from their union Anthony Jr. (preceding him in death), Pamela Shawn Williams (preceding him in death). Love continued throughout his life, and he met Gilda Harris Williams (preceding him in death) from their union, Antonio Williams. Anthony was a very caring man and provided Gilda with love and gentleness throughout her time on this earth. She was the “Sparkle in his Eye.” Anthony continued demonstrating his ability to love deeply in his relationship with Alice Haywood. Anthony, a man with a huge heart full of love and compassion, lived his life his way. He overcame many adversities bringing joy and happiness to all he encountered, never hesitating to verbalize his appreciation for others and the things they did for him. Be it known; he would speak HIS truth.
He was a hard-working man committed to providing for his family the best way he could. He worked at Fair Hill and Metro Hospitals for many years. After a brief retirement, he began his own carpet cleaning business, relocating to California briefly. Returning to Cleveland, beginning his professional career at Cleveland State University, where he retired after twenty- eight years of service, bored, he began working at The Federal Bank in janitorial services.
He was a man of faith and believed in prayer, watching Christian shows on Sunday mornings. He loved spending time at picnics, family dinners, birthdays, and holidays, especially Thanksgiving with family and friends. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, and everyone knew that one of the Turkey Legs belonged to him. He enjoyed traveling to casinos, playing the lottery, and driving his Red Cadillac. One of his favorite sayings was: “Let’s ride Clyde.”
Anthony departed this earthly world surrounded by many who loved him dearly with a smile of peace upon his face. He leaves to cherish his memories: son Antonio (Bethany); daughter-in- love Kimberly (Anthony Williams Jr.); bonus daughter Stephanie Haywood; grandchildren Brenell, Tremayne, Antonio Williams Jr., Brielle Boyd, Ariya-Joli “BABY” Williams, and London Bennett; Alice Haywood, his soul mate; his siblings, twin brother Angelo (Agnes), Carzell Sr. (Theresa), Raymond (Angela-deceased), Revell, Shaquill, his sisters Therasa (Enice), and Debbie Williams; very close cousins, Kenny, and Jai.
