Antoine J. Hord
We would like to announce the passing of Antoine J. Hord, who passed away on September 3, 2026. Antoine was born on June 13, 1982, in Akron, Ohio, to his parents, Antoinette Hord and Gregory Hunter.
Antoine J. Hord passed away at Akron General Medical Center/Hospice Center after a long fight with illness.
Antoine’s smile, his joking, and even his fussing, “shooting”, and cussing us out will truly be missed.
He loved his family, his friends, and everyone who became a part of his life, even those who were not related to him by blood.
Antoine loved going on outings with his day program and peers. He enjoyed barbecues, picnics, and many other activities. He had a loving spirit and always tried to make life easier for everyone around him.
He loved his guardian, Devione, dearly, as well as his care providers, Brittany Jones, Raven Thurman, Cortez Jones, and Nicole, along with all his peers.
Antoine loved his family very much, especially his brothers and his mother, as well as all his other family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Antoinette Hord; his father, Gregory Hunter; grandfather, Anthony Hord; and his grandmother, Johnie Mae Hord.
Antoine leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Rodney Samuels Jr. and Tyrelle Samuels; stepfather, Rodney Samuels Sr.; stepmother, Tonya Lane; aunt, Jackie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Antoine’s family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to his guardian, Devione Floyd; the Hunter family; and his special care partner, Raven Thurman, for the tremendous love, care, patience, and support they showed Antoine. Their dedication, kindness, and compassion meant so much to Antoine and his family. They were there to support him, make him smile, create special memories, and ensure that he was cared for and surrounded by love. The family is forever grateful for the time, care, and love they shared with Antoine and for being such an important part of his life. Their kindness and support will never be forgotten.
Antoine will be deeply missed and forever remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
