Antwuné Leemar Cannon was born on December 28, 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio to Marlene cannon and the late Arthur Mattox. He was the fourth of seven children. Antwuné “Hank”, our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend was a person that never met a stranger. He was a friend to all who knew him. One of his most admirable qualities was his willingness to help anyone.
Antwuné attended Cleveland public schools and was a graduate of James F. Rhodes senior high school. After high school, he pursued his modeling career in California. He lived in Atlanta, Georgia where he worked for many years as a personal shopper at Saks Fifth avenue. He also attended Paul Mitchell School of cosmetology in Nashville, TN, where he became “Denim Meko”, the stylist.
Hank started the next chapter of his life in Columbia, Tennessee with his mom where he proudly worked at Target, and of all things, undercover in security and loss prevention. Hank had a strong unfaltering trust and love for God. He worshiped at Rehoboth Living Waters Ministries of Jesus Christ in Spring Hill, TN, where he was baptized by his pastor and first lady, James and Vida Hopkins on September 5, 2020.
Hank was very affectionate and possessed a great sense of humor. He had a happy disposition towards life and living, and his smile was contagious. He loved to party and shop, but above all, his passion was traveling. When you said, “let’s go”, he said “I’m ready”. Hank’s most admirable quality was that he was always his own person and lived his life as he felt guided to live it. To have known Antwuné was to have truly had the opportunity of loving a very special person.
On February 13, 2024, Antwuné passed peacefully through the doorway of eternity to another expression of love. After a well fought battle, his walk with God continues. We grieve, but yet we celebrate the magnificent legacy of love that he left us. His memories are cherished by his mother, Marlene, sisters Michelle and Amelia, brothers Michel’e and proceeded in death, Reginald, Dionte, Kenyatta, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and great friends that he loved and cherished deeply. “His love was like a flame, it spread to everyone.”
