Arlene Holcomb, age 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted sisters, Renée Michéle Holcomb Hardwick (Jerome); Denise Holcomb; Vanessa Genell Jordan of Sylvester, Georgia; and Carmen Lucette Brown; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Lambert and Dr. Delorise Brown; nieces and nephews Darcella Lambert; Marcella Parker; Kamelah Butler; Imani Butler; Denise Mae Cummings; Leah Scales Legrone (Billy); Rachel Scales Scott (Willie); Latasha Cummings Watts (Jamel); Lucetta Jordan; Tamika Jordan; Tanisha Holcomb; Taletah Brown; Oscar Brown, III and Otis Brown; 48 great nieces and nephews; 13 great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Coolidge Holcomb, Sr. and Mae Odis Jones Holcomb; her siblings, Thomas Dewey Lambert and Calvin Coolidge Holcomb II, and her nephew, Derrick Cummings, Jr.
Arlene was educated in Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Glenville High School in 1977. She received an Associates of Arts degree from Cuyahoga Community College and an Associate of Science in Religious Education degree from Southwestern Christian College. Arlene worked at Ohio Savings Association and Fifth Third Bank as a banking loan officer.
Arlene was an active and devoted member of the University Church of Christ. Having achieved the level of Fishers of Men Graduate, Arlene received a Certificate of Achievement from the Fishers of Men Ministry in acknowledgement of dedication and perseverance in becoming better equipped in teaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and was initiated in 1979 to the Iota Iota Chapter at Bowling Green State University.
