Mrs. Armanda (Babedoll) Edgerson; 80 years young, was called home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2021. She was born in Selma, Alabama on July 5, 1941 to Laura Dunham Crumpton and Honey Hampton.
Armanda was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where she worshipped the Lord and served in the senior choir, mission circle, and women’s ministry. She was joined in matrimony to her late husband, Willie A. Edgerson Sr., on August 23, 1958. To this union, they conceived two sons in Birmingham, Alabama. The family relocated to Akron, Ohio in 1968. Armanda dedicated 30 years to the May Company in their downtown and Chapel Hill locations.
Armanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she really loved her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her love of watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and humming.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Dunham Crumpton; her father, Honey Hampton; her son, Willie A. Edgerson Jr.; brother, Jerry Dunham; 2 aunts and 5 uncles.
Armanda will be greatly missed by her son, Terence W. Edgerson Sr.; sisters, Bernice (Joseph) Kinnard, Stella (Conrad) Jeffries and Judy Dunham of Birmingham; brother, Freddie (Linda) Dunham; granddaughters, Demeka, Kandice and Ty’Anna; grandsons, Brandon, Terence Jr., Travis, Tyler, Julius and Christian and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, left to honor her loving memory are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
