Augusta Virginia Fowler was born to the late Elzie and Betty Elizabeth Bowen on December 28, 1927, in Richmond, Indiana. She was a proud graduate of Richmond Senior High School in 1946, a notable achievement as she was the only one of her nine siblings to complete high school. Augusta furthered her education at The School of Akron Practical Nursing, now known as Summa Nursing. She was the last of nine children.
Augusta was preceded in death by her youngest son, Michael Fowler; her grandson, Spencer Cliff Fowler, Jr.; and her siblings: Alfred (Geraldine) Bowen, Callie Mae Williams, Annabelle Speights, Lucille Hogg, Sue Carolyn McGrueberg, Betty Henderson, and Robert Bowen.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ricky (Shiela) Fowler, and her daughter, Priscilla Downs. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Vashti Fowler, Kaleyah McKoy, Nevaeh McKoy, Michael Fowler, and her great-grandchildren: Mi’kayla, Mykel, Michael, Jr., Zuri, Makhi, Marlee, and Maze Fowler.
