Barbara Ann Evans, born on August 11, 1949, in Jachin, Alabama, entered this world as the fourth of six children to her parents, Obie Bryant and Lucy Mae Bryant. Growing up among three brothers and two sisters, Barbara learned the values of family, unity, and resilience from an early age.

In the early 1970s, Barbara embraced the spirit of the Black Migration northward, seeking better financial opportunities for her family. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she laid down new roots. Her eldest two sons were born in Alabama, while her youngest two sons came into the world in Ohio.
Settling in the Collinwood area of Cleveland, Barbara found solace and community in the embrace of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. For over three decades, she remained a dedicated and cherished member, embodying the church’s values through her kindness and devotion.
After dedicating several years to work at Ford, Barbara spent the majority of her career at Chrysler in Twinsburg, Ohio, where her dedication and hard work were evident to all who knew her.
The family’s spiritual journey led them to Rome Missionary Baptist Church, where Barbara continued to nurture her faith and community ties for over two decades. She served as a Deaconess and an usher at both churches, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her spiritual path and the congregation.
Barbara Ann Evans was married to James Evans for 57 years, a union that was a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Through their journey, they not only became pillars of support for each other but also embraced their roles as parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, nurturing a growing family with boundless love.
