Barbara departed this life on September 10, 2020 and she leaves to mourn her late son Terrance Van Kennedy (Tito) and survived by her two sons Clifton Shawn Kennedy (Man) and Bryant William Kennedy and two daughters Gedina Gwen Kennedy (Gigi) and DeAnna Vonne Kennedy (Pebbles); thirteen grandchildren Angel Kennedy, Bryant Kennedy, Clifton Kennedy, Brandon Kennedy, Genai Kennedy, Arielle Kennedy, Dontell Kennedy, Arieus Towns, Izaya Kennedy, Shania Kennedy, Burnell Turner III, Fabian Kennedy, and Genessa Kennedy; two great grandchildren Nasir Kennedy and Aubrey Kennedy; she is survived by her devoted sister June Holman (late brother-in-law Rev. Samuel Holman) and mourns her late sisters Gwendolyn Frazier (late brother-in-law Harvey Frazier) and Geraldine Johnson (Geri); her late brothers Arthur Louis Sullivan, Eugene Sullivan and Bernard Sullivan; survived by her Uncle Drew Chillious and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

I had no idea that the day I came over to visit DeAnna that it would be my first and last time that I would see Ms. Barbara. I don't normally hug people I don't know but I do my best to listen to my spirit now, and my spirit rushed me over to that kitchen table to hug her tight. It was a beautiful sunny day that day. I now know why I flew to her so fast. My heart aches for my big sis and my dearest friend DeAnna. It's just another bond we will share. Sending my condolences to the entire family.
