Donya Jackson left a message on April 2, 2024:
My mother was a GIANT. I remember when I was younger, my mother was sick in the window in the kitchen praying. She would be on the phone with one of her prayer partners, and you can hear her praying all the way down the street. When I was young I was embarrassed. It was from a lack of understanding, and my relationship with Christ was not where it should have been. But as I got older, and a better understanding, I learned to appreciate those powerful prayers you get here all the way down the street. I remember neighbors showing up some mother could pray for them. They would act like heathens all week 😂😂 But when something happened, they would show up at Mrs Bannerman's door. When my mother prayed, things happened. She was also a brilliant teacher of the Old testament. She love God, and she love the church. My mother love clothes. I'm sure my love for fashion came from her. She loves beautiful things and she dressed so beautifully. So elegant. My mother was very beautiful. My mother loved her family. She would always set a formal table for every holiday. Jelena and I would get stuck washing all the dishes. But there was a lesson in it. I learned how to set a formal table, how to present a proper table, and proper etiquette when it came to entertaining guest and dining. I learned that from my mother. If it wasn't for my mother I would have never been a successful event designer. I would have never played in the all city orchestra, all the activities she would sign me up for, I didn't even know about it until it was time to go 😂😂😂 I remember playing that old beat up piano in our dining room. I hated those piano lessons. But she made me do it 😂😂😂 no regrets. I love you Mommy. Thank you for pushing me to be the best version of myself. But above all, thank you for teaching me how to love God, and being a great example of what a godly woman should be. I love you Mommy.
