Bennie Mae Jackson, affectionately known as “Granny” went to be with the Lord on July 09, 2025. Bennie was born on September 23, 1923, in Douglasville, GA to the late Henrietta and Benjamin Bailey.
Bennie accepted the Lord at an early age and was faithful in her relationship with the Lord up until her passing. She attended Werner United Methodist Church until her health failed. Bennie was a person of little words, but she showed her love through her cooking. Bennie served her community for over 20 years by providing meals for the homeless. In her younger years Bennie enjoyed bowling. She bowled on several teams and participated in several tournaments earning various awards.
Bennie was married to the late Earnest Jackson and to their union was born one son, Billie Jackson.
Bennie retired from General Motors where she worked for over 33 years and never missed a day of work.
Bennie is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Jackson and her son Billie Jackson, and her brother DeWitt Bailey.
Bennie leaves to cherish her memories, daughter-in-law, Mildred Jackson; grandson, Andrei (Madeline) Jackson; granddaughter, Amber Burnett; great-granddaughter, Jade Burnett; and a very special niece Dorthea Utsey; in addition to a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
“Granny” will be deeply missed but never forgotten, forever in our hearts.
