Bernice Pearcy, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2021.
Bernice Winslow Pearcy was born on November 16, 1931, oldest child of 7 siblings Geraldine Shepherd Marva Samuels, Carl Johnson, John (Tony) Cason, Billy Cason, Donnie Cason, Norman Cason and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. to Henry J and Willie Nell Cason in Benham, KY. After graduating from East Benham Highschool she went on to study Interior Design.
After graduation, she landed her first job as a Visual Merchandiser and later went on to work for GE.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Eugene Calvin Pearcy and they wed in 1953 in Jonesville, VA, going on to have 6 children, Sharon Pope, Anthony Pearcy, Kenneth Pearcy Little Eugene (deceased), Calvin Pearcy, and Michael Pearcy.
She was a strong woman of faith and gave her life to Christ where she attended Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Stanley Halton, Bishop Gabriel Halton and current Pastor Tracey Halton. She was a devoted member and served on the Nurses Guild and worked in the nursery. She was always encouraging young people to seek her God. She was the mother of the neighborhood and prayed for everyone.
Bernice was a passionate about her grandchildren. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found cooking and gardening. We will miss her greatly.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Eugene Pearcy, son Eugene Jr., Father Henry J Johnson, Mother Willie Nell Cason, Henry Jr., Geraldine Shepherd and John (Tony) Cason.
Bernice leaves behind, to cherish her memory her 6 children, Sharon Pope, Anthony Pearcy, Kenneth Pearcy (Paris) Little Eugene (deceased), Calvin Pearcy (Tanya) and Michael Pearcy (Yolanda ) and 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great- great grandchildren, Sister Marva Samuels, 4 Brothers Carl Johnson, Billy Cason, Donnie Cason, Norman Cason and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
